Cut from 100% Italian duchess silk in a rich goldish yellow tone, this piece is conceived as a sculptural expression of light, structure, and heritage. The fabric carries a natural density and luminous sheen, allowing the silhouette to hold its architectural form while still moving with quiet fluidity. The design draws inspiration from Ottoman ornamental language, reinterpreted through a refined, mid-century sensibility. The sleeves are dramatically gathered and sculpted to create ceremonial volume, while the hem is engineered with architectural precision. Subtle triangular patterning runs through the construction, referencing traditional symbolism and protective geometry. The silhouette balances a structured 1950s-inspired hourglass form with the ease and openness of a kaftan. A high collar frames the neckline with quiet authority, while the high-low hem introduces sculptural movement as the garment responds to the body. A detachable silk belt with tassel detailing allows the waist to be defined or released, shifting the mood between structure and fluidity. Hidden magnetic buttons are seamlessly integrated through the front placket, preserving a pure uninterrupted line. The interior remains unlined, emphasizing lightness, breathability, and the natural integrity of the silk. Made to order, the piece is crafted with a lead time of approximately 6–8 weeks. Custom colours can be developed upon request by contacting the atelier, and bespoke sizing is available with an additional fee starting at +40%. After purchase, the atelier will be in direct contact to refine measurements, fit preferences, and final detailing. A garment where Ottoman memory and mid-century refinement meet — radiant, sculptural, and quietly commanding in presence.

Founder & Creative Director — Handan London Wearable Art | Slow & Conscious Couture
Handan is a London-based fashion designer and the founder of Handan London, a slow couture house where fashion becomes wearable art. Born in Istanbul and shaped by a background in advertising and storytelling, she approaches design as an emotional dialogue—creating garments that express individuality through art, narrative, and craftsmanship. Working primarily with natural fabrics, especially silk, each piece is made to order and crafted with intention. Her collections move beyond seasonal trends, focusing on timeless elegance, personal expression, and conscious luxury. Alongside couture pieces, Handan introduces One-of-One creations made from carefully sourced deadstock fabrics. These very limited garments honour sustainable making while offering a rare, more approachable ready-to-wear expression of the brand—each piece unique and impossible to reproduce. Designed for confident, expressive women, Handan London brings together storytelling, artistry, and thoughtful design in every creation.
